The 14R has a 14.1” glossy screen with a LED backlit, 1366 x 768 pixel native resolution. This is similar to other Dell laptops of the same screen size. Playback of videos looks great and so do web pages. Colours are sharply contrasted but looks faded when viewed from extended angles. The volume control is direct and one does not have to hit the Fn button. The keys of the keyboard are slightly raised up and this helps in clean typing. The keyboard stretches from one end to the other thus making the size of the keys just right. The sound system is good and is provided by the stereo speakers located on the base under the palm rest. This clarity in sound made viewing videos a much better experience.
